Mother of the Year...?

Well that is not me... Friday, Bradyen brought home a book he had made for me in Preschool for Mother's Day. I was excited to see what he had made for me. As I read it I smile, laughed and felt sad. I have to share a page with you, It reads,"My mom always says.. go to my roon now." I laughed after I read it but then thought, do I tell him this a lot? I wonder if his teacher thought what a bad mother he has. I really have sat and thought about this on this mother's day. I know that I am not perfect. I try hard to be the best mother I know how to be. I don't want my children to remember my faults.. I hope to be a more patient and loving to my children from this year forward. I love my children with all of my heart. I want the very best for each one of them. My mother posted a quote on her blog today that I would like to share that helped me have faith that I am doing my best. I Love you Mom.

"I feel to invite every woman everywhere to rise to the great potential within you. I do not ask that you reach beyond your capacity. I hope you will not nag yourselves with thoughts of failure. I hope you will not try to set goals far beyond your capacity to achieve. I hope you will simply do what you can do in the best way you know. If you do so, you will witness miracles come to pass."

Valerie, don't worry. You are an awesome mother! Your kids know how much you love them. You are a great example to me.

I don't think disciplining your child makes you a bad mother, quite the opposite! I think its important to follow through with threats you've made to your kids otherwise they'll think THEY are in charge. Those are the kids that are irritating to be around. You had a great mother and I suspect you are just as great!

That's a really funny story. A month ago Wesley threw up in his carseat as I was driving home and when I turned around he said so sadly "Look Mom, I'm cleaning up my mess." Seriously, my poor sick kid was cleaning up his own throw up. So who's the worlds best mom?
